I went to Japango for my last evening in Toronto just this past week, celebrating one of my friends' birthday. And man was I in for a treat! Once we arrived, we were surprised with how small and busy the place was (seats 20 at most!) We waited for about 15 mins and got seated by the window, giving us a great view of what's delivered to each table (Which is always quite exciting!)

Japango takes their sashimi very seriously. We ordered the Sushi & Sashimi Moriawase ( meaning 'chef's selection of whatever is the freshest of the day.') I haven't had such fresh and amazingly delicious sashimi in a very long time. (Could tell since they leave part of the skin on the fish!). Once the nigiri got to our table, we had some fun taking turns claiming which one to have, I usually don't enjoy light coloured fish... but this place changed my mind on that for sure!
As for appetizers, we ordered the Oyster and Scallop, both very fresh and done perfectly well.
And to end this wonderful authentic meal, we got THE BEST black sesame ice cream I've ever had!
I'm so happy to have found this little gem in downtown Toronto before I flew back the following day. This is a MUST GO if you're visiting Toronto and love Japanese food! I heard lunch gets super busy, so making reservations would be a good idea if you go around then! ;)
Till next time.
