Within the first week of Corbeaux Bakehouse's opening here in Calgary just a little over two weeks ago on Dec 23rd, 2014, I've been back about three times already! The Fratello brother's who owns and designed Analog Cafe just down the street took over the old Melrose space and created yet another great place for Calgarians to settle in for a bite to eat!
Corbeaux offers a great variety of shared 'comfort foods' and fresh baked goods. Upon getting a table after about a 30 min wait on their opening night our waitress Linda suggested my friends and I to try out a selection of items from each 'shop' on the menu. Everything was designed to be sharable - making it a fun and interactive experience around the table.
The idea and feel of Corbeaux at first glance reminded me of a European macaron pastry shop/restaurant - Bottega Louie in LA, except with a more 'at home - cozy' vibe - which I adore! I got quite distracted and excited (think a child in a candy store) seeing so many different selections of cakes, macarons, specialty loaves and giant cookies!
Since I'm rather excited to share with you what I meant by an amazing selection of sweets, let's have a twist and begin with the sweet stuff for this photo review post!
Drooling yet? No? Okay well continue on, scroll down and we'll have dinner now!

My MUST ORDER dish was their
Crispy Duck Wings ~ $13
although... they really were drumstick rather than wings.
Thank you Chris and Russ in bringing this beautiful new European inspired spot into Calgary. I absolutely loved the ambiance, the service, the fine details put into the food and the fact that this place is now one of my new go to #latenight spots in Calgary!
They are opened till 1:00 am Mon-Sun!
+ They have weekend Brunch!
