A girl friend of mine who attends UofA recommended me to check out Leva Cafe when I asked her for a recommendation on good brunch. Needless to say, I think I may have officially found one of my absolute go to places for brunch + pizza in Edmonton over the weekend. This place actually might be a reason why it's worth the weekend trip up even if I'm not working!
Everyone here is Leva Cafe
1053 86 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB
It's situated in the cute little neighbourhood of Garneau, (right next to campus), with a cute patio, big windows and open space, I could absolutely see myself being at this spot for meetings, studying and a perfect cappuccino and a custard croissant! (if I lived up here)
The moment you walk through the door, their pastries, sweets and organic gelato fridge will entice you to wish you could have a bigger stomach to try out everything!
Leva offers an array of in house made desserts, Italian styled beverages, wicked pizzas and so much more to list out! Their menu isn't short of anything from amazing, for my first visit on a Sunday Brunch morning I tried their Salmon Platter with baguette, cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, onions .. (okay all the fixings). It was a perfect sharable option... or something for yourself to nibble on with a good book.
Smoked Salmon Platter - $13.25
Iced London Fog with Soy milk
(I asked for it to be chilled since it was so nice out and I really could not... not have tried one of my favourite drinks with my breakie.)
Salted Caramel Macaron ... what a beauty. Definitely not the best macaron I've had, however it sufficed with it's creamy richness.
Tiramisu in a cup
Cappuccino + Iced London Fog
LuLu Salad - $17.00
Mixed greens, avocado, chicken, feta, almonds, cranberries, tomatoes and pears
This was a recommended salad, for someone who doesn't enjoy feta as much as I wish... this was pretty good. Great as an share item.
Spicy Chicken Pizza - $17.50
Avocado, fresh cherry tomatoes and mozzarella
This was so good, I'm not sure how to put it in words. I mean I've always been a huge fan of thin crust pizza, however this place does not hold back on cheese (imo), and it was my first time having avocado on my pizza... and they were kinda wonderful together. <3
I had so much fun holding this thin slice of pizza italian style!
Smoked Salmon - $17.50
with red onions, gorganzola, garlic & capers + fresh lemon
MmMMmm amazing. If you love smoked salmon ( I do!), then this is just perfect. This was essentially a perfect smoked salmon begal translated into pizza form. Ugh just thinking about it got me mentally drooling!
The Last Slice
+ a generous sprinkle of chilli flakes.
Leva, I promise I'll be back. With more friends for more pizzas and everything else!
xx, stay hungry and sexy my friends. Muah!
Cheers to pizza, (I'm lovin all their curves and edges! ;)
